A busy factory and a profitable factory are different things. Busy is a feeling. Profitable is a number, and most growing manufacturers cannot produce that number for yesterday without asking three people.

This hub is about the shop floor: what to measure, how to capture it without adding an hour of paperwork to a supervisor's day, and which numbers actually change a decision. Rejection rate is only useful if you know which shift, which machine and which operator it came from. On-time delivery is only useful if the promise date was honest when it was made.

The problems here are consistent across geographies — a plant in Surat, Sheffield or Sharjah loses money in the same places. Material that is scrapped without record. A machine that has been misbehaving for three weeks in nobody's log. A handover that happens in two minutes at the gate. A quotation that pads every delivery date by a week because nobody trusts the schedule.
