How to Evaluate an India-Based Transformation Partner
Distance isn't the offshore risk. Unverifiable decision-making is. Three checks to run before signing: discovery, code ownership, change pricing.
If you are in London, Dallas or Dubai and considering an India-based partner, you are making a judgement with incomplete information about a firm you cannot easily visit. This hub is written to make that judgement easier, including in the cases where the answer is to walk away.
We are an India-based firm, so the bias is obvious and worth stating. What follows from that is a decision to be concrete rather than reassuring: what engagement models actually mean when a project runs late, what a fixed-price contract does to scope conversations, how time zones affect a daily standup in practice, and what a discovery phase should produce before anyone writes code.
Cost is the question most often asked first and least useful in isolation. A rate card tells you nothing about whether the requirement was understood. The posts here are more interested in what you receive at the end of week one, who you speak to when something breaks, who owns the code and the data, and what happens if you want to leave.
The questions in this hub are ones you should ask us as readily as anyone else. A partner that cannot answer them plainly has told you something useful.
Distance isn't the offshore risk. Unverifiable decision-making is. Three checks to run before signing: discovery, code ownership, change pricing.
A straight breakdown of what fixed-scope, phased, and dedicated-team engagements actually cost and commit you to, in USD and GBP.
